Transcending local boundaries, Dr. Novie Ada Urbis, a faculty from the University of Northern Philippines College of Arts and Sciences, continues to share her story and inspire individuals as she was featured in “The Manila Times,” the oldest English-language newspaper in the Philippines that features various stories of commendable personalities.

Dr. Urbis, known as “Brida”, currently teaches Arts Appreciation, Life and Works of Rizal, and Purposive Communication, in the university.

With her being a teacher and a writer, she stressed in her interview by the writer of the magazine that the most important thing she learned from her experiences is how to discover herself. “I have to accept my flaws, and everything that is good and bad about me, “she said.

Further, she began her writing journey few years ago and she was able to publish some books including “From Rock Bottom to Becoming a Warrior” and “The Adventures of Brida.”

These books feature how she handles life’s challenges and defy trials. This accomplishment signifies how the university continues to train and produce individuals that shares inspiration, upholds empowerment, and promotes development.
