CBAA launches 27th Annual Business Week

Vibrant energy, rich tradition, and strong school spirit filled Santiago Cove Road on January 26 as the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) Eagles formally launched their 27th Annual Business Week Celebration under the theme “B.A.L.L.I.G.I.: Bridging Ancestral Legacy with Leadership, Innovation, Growth, and Inclusivity.”

The opening ceremonies were graced by Dr. Marina Garcia, Director II of the Civil Service Commission–Ilocos Sur Field Office, who served as guest of honor and speaker. She was joined by key university officials, including Dr. Erwin Cadorna, SUC President; Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Albert Tejero, Vice President for Finance and Administration; Dr. Mariano Paterno Avila, Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS); Dr. Erwin Tolbe, Dean of CBAA; OSAS staff Prof. Randolfo Lopez and Dr. Marifel Acena; and Hon. Jake Axel A. Tadena, Student Council president.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by Chlyde Laongayan, Vice Governor of the Organization of Business Administration Students, officially opening the week-long celebration.

The festivities began with a Holy Eucharistic Mass, followed by a lively CBAA parade around the university campus showcasing unity and school pride. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at the CBAA East Wing marked the formal opening of the series of activities.

Students actively participated in various competitive and interactive events, including Fearless Forecast, the Yell Competition, Street Dance, and booth competitions, highlighting creativity, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

The annual Business Week serves as a platform to strengthen camaraderie among CBAA students while providing meaningful opportunities for experiential learning, leadership development, and innovation.

“Every year, this is what we students anticipate most. It is even more exciting because the theme centers on culture and traditions, which are essential for young people today to appreciate what shaped who we are,” a CBAA student said.

As the celebration continues, the CBAA Eagles reaffirm their commitment to honor their ancestral legacy while embracing progress, inclusivity, and future-ready leadership.
