A delegation of students from the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) of the University of Northern Philippines has officially arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia to participate in an international student mobility program hosted by the Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI).
The program, which runs from November 4 to December 4, 2025, aims to promote cross-cultural understanding, academic collaboration, and leadership development among Southeast Asian students.
The participating students are Ms. Merilizh Cabotaje, Mr. John Elison Caricungan, Mr. Marc Chlyde Laongayan, Ms. Gian Rei Catindig, and Ms. Kimberly Valdez.
Throughout the program, the UNP delegates will engage in academic lectures, cultural immersion activities, and collaborative workshops alongside Indonesian and other international students. The experience is expected to enhance their global competencies and entrepreneurial mindset—key competencies for business students in today’s interconnected economy.
Dr. Erwin Tolbe, Dean of the CBAA, emphasized the significant impact of UNP students’ participation in this program as it highlights the college’s dedication to promote academic excellence through fostering global perspectives.
“This mobility program is a valuable opportunity for our students to learn beyond the classroom,” said Dr. Tolbe. “It allows them to experience international business practices, gain new perspectives, and strengthen their sense of cultural appreciation—all of which contribute to their personal and professional growth.”
This initiative of the UNP President, Dr. Erwin Cadorna, and the International Affairs and External Linkages Office (IAELO) led by Dr. Sally Jarin, Director; and Dr. Edelyn Cadorna, Assistant Director, underscores the university’s strong commitment to internationalization and the building of partnerships not only within the Philippines but also abroad. Through this initiative, UNP continues to create platforms for students and faculty to engage in global learning experiences that enhance the institution’s academic reputation and international collaborations.
The initiative is part of UNP’s continuing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and expose its students to global academic and professional environments.
The initiative also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, by fostering inclusive and equitable learning opportunities through international collaboration.
The delegation expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent the University in this international engagement. They are set to share their learnings and experiences with the CBAA community upon their return.
As UNP continues to build partnerships abroad, this student mobility program marks another milestone in the university’s pursuit of academic excellence and global relevance.
