CCIT cares marks UNP’s 59th anniversary with outreach, sustainability efforts
To address the need for modern infrastructure, promote environmental awareness, and enhance learning experiences, the faculty members of the College of Communication and Information Technology (CCIT) and students from the BLIS program conducted an outreach activity at Caellayan Elementary School in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, on October 17, in celebration with the 59th Founding Anniversary of UNP.
Key activities included providing technical assistance for the maintenance of the school’s network infrastructure to ensure robust digital learning resources. Project Libre also established a library reading park that promotes literacy and lifelong learning within the community.
A tree-planting and cleaning drive was also done. As part of the biodiversity efforts, 30 narra seedlings were planted, highlighting the event’s commitment to environmental sustainability and educational progress.
The dean and assistant dean of CCIT, along with 25 faculty members and 11 BLIS students, participated in the extension activity.
