The College of Communication and Information Technology (CCIT) conducted its Practicum Orientation activity on June 16, 2025 at the UNP Tadena Hall. The event titled “Dunong, Husay at Ugali” was organized to prepare third-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Science students for their upcoming on-the-job training.
The orientation opened with a welcome message from Assistant Dean Ms. Maribel Tacla, who encouraged the students to take the activity seriously as it would help shape their growth and performance in the professional setting.
Ms. Rowena Mammuad, Registered Psychometrician and a UNP Guidance Counselor served as the resource speaker and talked on Work Ethics and Practicum Tips. She focused on how trainees can effectively deal with challenges in the workplace and emphasized key ethical traits such as professionalism, adaptability, and accountability.
An open forum followed, where students actively participated by raising questions and sharing their insights regarding the practicum process.
To cap off the program, CCIT Dean gave her closing message, highlighting three key takeaways to guide the students during their training: quality time, quality of work, and quality of the trainee. She emphasized that these values are essential in making the most out of the practicum experience.
