CCIT unveils IoT Exhibit showcasing Student-Built Smart Systems

The College of Communication and Information Technology (CCIT) of the University of Northern Philippines unveiled the Internet of Things (IoT) exhibit titled, “Panagdur-as ti Teknolohia: Unleashing Creativity & Innovation through Internet of Things Projects” on December 4–5, 2025, at the CCIT Lobby.

The exhibit featured IoT prototypes and functional smart systems developed by fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students from sections 4A, 4B, and 4C enrolled in IT-Elective 5 (Internet of Things).

The projects demonstrated the use of sensors, automation, data collection, and interconnected devices applied to concerns in daily living, safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Through this activity it allowed students to apply classroom concepts to practical outputs while strengthening technical skills and problem-solving. It also served as a venue for collaboration and knowledge sharing on emerging smart technologies.

The activity was initiated by the faculty members handling IT-Elective 5, namely Prof. Paul Nikko Quilana, Mr. Eddiemar Sinco, and Mr. Jen Mark Pelaez.

Through the exhibit, CCIT sustained its efforts to prepare students for a technology-driven environment.
