CCJE holds seminar cum MoA signing at Puro National High School

The College of Criminal Justice Education spearheaded a significant initiative on March 14, 2025, at Puro National High School, Brgy. Puro, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signing and seminar on combating Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) was conducted. The event gathered participants from various sectors, including faculty members, senior high school students, barangay officials, and residents.

The seminar addressed the urgent need for action against OSAEC, aligning with Republic Act 11930 otherwise known as “Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) Act” and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16 on peace and justice, SDG 5 on gender equality, and SDG 17 on partnerships. It aimed to educate participants about the dangers of online exploitation and strengthen community efforts in prevention, intervention, and victim protection.

The activity emphasized the role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in both enabling and combating exploitation. The CCJE reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding children from all forms of online abuse through education and collaboration with local stakeholders.

This initiative highlights the importance of collective action in addressing digital threats to children’s safety while fostering a culture of vigilance and responsibility.
