The University of Northern Philippines College of Criminal Justice Education (UNP CCJE) led by Dean, Dr. Sina Bestre, conducted its first recognition program on May 28, 2025, at the UNP auditorium with the theme, “Celebrating Excellence, Inspiring Leadership, Pioneering the future of Criminal Justice.” The program recognized students for their achievements and to celebrate their dedication and hardships throughout their journey.
PMAJ Alexis Aberion, Administrative Officer of the Philippine National Police-Regional Finance Unit 1 and a former student of UNP-CCJE, served as the guest speaker. He shared inspiring stories back when he was still a student. He emphasized that the pursuit of justice requires a strong foundation of knowledge, and this is where educators reflect epistemic justice and law enforcers speak of competence, readiness, and capability.
Furthermore, he also mentioned about “Dream, Determination, Discipline and Empathy,” where a strong dream fuels the determination to overcome challenges. Determination, supported by discipline, ensuring actions align with the dream and ethical standards. Empathy enhances the effectiveness of law enforcement by fostering trust and understanding, making all the other qualities more impactful.
Lastly, he concluded his speech with his saying that “beyond medals and certificate, this is a celebration of sacrifice and dedication.”
