CHTM conducts table skirting and design training at SJNHS
The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) spearheaded the Table Skirting and Creative Design Training on February 12, 2025, at San Juan National High School, Bacsil, San Juan, Ilocos Sur. The program aimed to equip teachers, with practical skills in table skirting and creative design, enhancing their capacity to contribute to school events, community activities, and entrepreneurial ventures.
The training was led by Mr. Victorino Bersamina, an expert and core faculty member of the BS in Hospitality Management (BSHM) program. The initiative was organized by Dr. Kevin Cesar Martinez, Assistant Dean, CHTM, along with Dr. Rogelio Quario II, program chair of BSHM, and facilitators Mr. Jemson Barisoro and Mr. Dave Angelo Asuncion.
Participants engaged in hands-on training focused on table skirting techniques, learning to combine creativity and functionality for practical use.
The event concluded with a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony, led by Dr. Fatima Rocamora, Vice President for Research and Extension, Mr. Elvis Tabugader, SJNHS Principal, and Prof. May Evelia Ruadap, coordinator for the livelihood and skills training program. The MOA marked the formal partnership between the UNP and San Juan National High School, reinforcing their shared commitment to promoting community involvement.
Teachers at San Juan National High School expressed their gratitude for the training and requested more similar sessions. Many are eager to apply their new skills in upcoming school events and explore opportunities for small businesses.
