The University of Northern Philippines College of Law (CLAW) capped the year with a comprehensive Performance Review and Strategic Planning Session on December 9, 2025 bringing together faculty members and student leaders to evaluate the College’s milestones and set its strategic priorities for 2026. Held at the College of Law Library, the session was highlighted by the presence of Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rolando Navarro, whose message of motivation and strategic guidance reaffirmed the administration’s strong commitment to CLAW’s continued growth and excellence.
The session sought to create a space for meaningful reflection and stronger alignment among the College’s stakeholders, bringing together regular, affiliate, and part-time faculty members, and officers of the Law Student Government. Guided by facilitator Ms. Agnes Cargamento—an experienced governance and development specialist with more than two decades of expertise in organizational strengthening and capacity building—the group engaged in a comprehensive assessment of the College’s performance. Through her structured approach, participants were able to critically examine past achievements, identify areas for improvement, and set a more unified direction for the coming year.
Faculty members and student leaders engaged in an in-depth assessment of the College’s performance, mapping out its strengths and pinpointing areas that require further development in four major domains—Instruction, Research, Extension, and Support Services. Through guided discussions, participants revisited the year’s key accomplishments and examined persistent challenges, generating insights that will inform more focused and results-oriented initiatives. The evaluative process not only clarified priorities for the coming year but also reinforced the College’s commitment to elevate instructional standards, strengthen research output, expand community outreach, and improve institutional support mechanisms.
The session encouraged open dialogue and collaborative problem-solving, ensuring that the planning process was grounded not only in data but also in the collective experiences and insights of those directly involved in the College’s work.
By the end of the planning session, the College of Law concluded the activity with a sharper institutional vision and a more unified sense of purpose. The collective insights and recommendations generated throughout the discussions will serve as a strategic compass for 2026, reinforcing the College’s commitment to academic excellence, meaningful community service, and a nurturing learning environment for both faculty and students. With strengthened collaboration and clearly aligned priorities, CLAW stands prepared to navigate emerging challenges and sustain its role as a provider of quality and socially responsive legal education.
