CTE launches environmental protection program

 

On November 30, 2024, the College of Teacher Education launched an extension activity at Tamurong, Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur titled “Waves of Change: Protecting our Coasts and Raising Environment Awareness.”

The said activity was participated in by Bachelor of Secondary Education, Master of Arts in Education, MA Teaching English, and MA Teaching Filipino students, as well as the NSTP class of BSBA 1F.

A short program was held in the morning. The lecture “Mapping Out Transformative G-A-D-ly Acts Towards Environmental Reassurance” was tackled by Mr. Harold T. Sadornas, former president of the organization of graduate students of CTE and a senior high school teacher at Dingras National High School.

The second speaker in the afternoon was Dr. Corazon G. Pardo. She discussed “Waves of Change: Protecting our Coasts and Raising Environmental Awareness.”

The “Waves of Change” activity aimed to restore and protect coastal areas, raise awareness, and develop responsibility by empowering the participants to change their lives and be environmental stewards. This event further enlightened everyone to foster care for our environment for future generations.

The highlight of the activity, the coastal cleanup in Tamurong, happened at 3:30 in the afternoon.
