CoE honors new Sanitary Engineers in Testimonial Luncheon
The UNP College of Engineering celebrates the success of its February 2025 Sanitary Engineer Licensure Examination (SELE) passers in a grand testimonial luncheon on May 19, 2025, at UNP Tadena Hall. The event, themed “Thriving on Purpose 4 ExcellenSE: UNPaving the Path to Boundless Possibilities,” brought together faculty, administrators, and newly licensed sanitary engineers.
The celebration began with a motorcade from Vigan to Sinait and back, making notable stops along the way to honor topnotcher Engr. Jansen John Costales, who secured the fourth spot in the licensure examination. The first stop was at San Juan National High School, where Engr. Costales attended junior high school. The school’s students and faculty welcomed him with a grand entrance, and he shared an inspiring message with the young learners. The motorcade then succeeded to Magsingal National High School, his alma mater for senior high school, where the school community also warmly congratulated him.
Following the motorcade, a thanksgiving mass began, where attendees gathered to express gratitude for the success of the SELE passers. During the luncheon program, distinguished guests delivered inspiring messages.
Dr. Erwin Cadorna, UNP President, expressed his immense pride in the college’s continued tradition of excellence, as shown by the outstanding performance of its graduates in national licensure examinations. He commended the faculty and administration for their unwavering dedication to producing engineers. Also present in the event were Engr. Nestor Pajaro, City Councilor of Vigan and COE Alumni Association President and Engr. Jake Mark David, President of Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers – Region 1 Chapter.
Engr. Jansen John Costales expressed his deep gratitude to the university, faculty, and mentors who played a crucial role in his success. He emphasized that his achievement was not just a personal victory but a testament to UNP’s commitment to academic excellence and student support. SELE Passers also gave their testimonies to the audiences of the event.
Another highlight of the event was the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between UNP and President of Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers – Region 1 Chapter symbolizing their continued collaboration in advancing engineering education and professional development. Certificates were also given to the successful examinees, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
The testimonial luncheon not only celebrated the achievements of the SELE passers but also reinforced UNP’s commitment to producing competent professionals in the field of sanitary engineering.
