CoE launches drone
This morning of September 25, 2024, the UNP-College of Engineering launched its drone at the university oval with the geodetic engineering students.
On the said launching, Dean Nelia P. Verzosa expressed her most sincere gratitude to the University officials headed by Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna for providing support to the College of Engineering and advised the students and faculty to handle the drone with intensive care.
“You are so lucky to have such equipment like this, unlike during our time,” she added.
Representing the president is Engr. Saturnino Tablada, the executive assistant to the president, defines engineering as a field involving planning, analyzing, and acting. He stated that the launching will not only benefit the geodetic engineering program but also the civil and sanitary engineering programs.
The procedures in flying the drone were discussed by Engr. Charlaign Kate R. Gumasing. She also included in her discussion the advantages and restrictions in utilizing it. Engr. Norberto Aquino II demonstrated the flying.
Engr. Isidoro Rusibin Jr. ended the launch with his message of gratitude and excitement. He took a moment to reflect on the skills and knowledge gained.
“Operating a drone is not just about flying a piece of equipment – it’s about mastering a set of skills that allows us to capture crucial data, monitor environments and push the boundaries of technology while securing safety and prioritizing precision,” he concluded.
The event was attended also by Engr. Franklyn T. Amistad, Engr. Romel B. San Diego Jr., Engr. Pamela Aurey Plete, and Engr. Rio Nico U. Costales.
