COE orients 3rd year Engineering students on their OJT program
In preparation for their upcoming on-the-job training (OJT) program and major specializations in their fourth year, third-year Engineering students of the three programs offered at College of Engineering attended an orientation session on March 19, 2025, at the UNP Tadena Hall. Also attended by the parents of the students, the orientation provided them with information on internship requirements, industry expectations, and the significance of selecting their respective engineering disciplines.
The activity began with the introduction of various companies and industries by Engr. Romel San Diego Jr., one of the OJT Coordinators of the College of Engineering. Engr. San Diego emphasized intern expectations and advised students to maximize their internship opportunities.
Afterward, the orientation focused on fourth-year majors, where faculty members provided guidance on the available specialization within the Civil Engineering program. Students were given an overview of the different fields, including structural engineering, construction engineering and management, and transportation engineering.
Dr. Nelia Verzosa, expressed appreciation to the students on their attendance at the said orientation, stating that it provided them with a clear perspective on their academic and career paths.
With the knowledge gained from the orientation, third-year engineering students are now better equipped to navigate their internships and make informed decisions about their future engineering careers.
