College of Architecture launches “Genius Loci” exhibit

The College of Architecture of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) recently opened the “Genius Loci: Preserving the Spirit of Place” exhibit, showcasing the creativity and design excellence of its Architecture students. The exhibit serves as a platform for students to express their artistic vision and architectural interpretation of cultural and spatial identity, reflecting their deep appreciation for heritage and place-making.

The “Genius Loci” exhibit not only highlights the technical skills of UNP’s Architecture students but also reflects their deep understanding of how spaces shape human experience. Each project offers a distinct perspective, combining aesthetic vision with cultural and historical sensitivity, demonstrating how architecture can honor the past while inspiring the future.

The exhibit serves as both an educational platform and a public celebration of creativity. Visitors are encouraged to explore the displays, engage with the ideas presented, and appreciate how the students translate the essence of place into compelling architectural concepts.

By opening the exhibit to the wider community, UNP continues to bridge academic learning with public engagement, fostering greater awareness of the significance of thoughtful and context-sensitive design. The exhibit will remain accessible, offering ample opportunity for students, professionals, and the general public to witness the next generation of architects shaping spaces with meaning and imagination.
