CPAd PASS achieves double victory at the International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO 2025

The Public Administration Student Society (PASS) of the College of Public Administration clinched top distinctions in two major categories at the International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO 2025, showcasing their academic excellence and leadership during the annual gathering held November 21, 2025 at Forest Crest Nature Hotel and Resort in Nasugbu, Batangas.

Representing the University of Northern Philippines, PASS emerged as champions in a highly competitive international quiz bowl that gathered more than 70 teams from across the Philippines and several foreign delegations. Their resounding victory stood as a testament to the team’s rigorous preparation, strategic teamwork, and unwavering pursuit of academic excellence.

Further solidifying their presence on the global stage, the delegation was also honored as Best Cultural Performers. Their presentation captivated the audience with its artistic flair, creativity, and heartfelt tribute to cultural identity—earning praise for showcasing the richness of local heritage before an international assembly.

These achievements further affirm PASS’s role as a leading force in shaping globally competitive, culturally grounded public administration students. By excelling in both academic and cultural arenas, the organization demonstrates its dedication to holistic student development—one that values intellectual rigor, artistic expression, and a deep respect for heritage. Their success brings renewed pride to the College of Public Administration and strengthens the University of Northern Philippines’ standing as an institution committed to produce well-rounded, high-achieving youth leaders.

Dr. Abelardo Anicas, PASS adviser and BPA Program Head, played a pivotal role in the students’ achievements, offering consistent mentorship, academic direction, and motivational support throughout their preparation. His leadership not only helped sharpen the team’s capabilities but also fostered an environment where the students could excel with confidence on both the national and international stage.

The College of Public Administration, under the leadership of OIC Dean Dr. Cid Javier, expressed heartfelt commendation to the PASS officers and members for representing the college with exceptional dignity and distinction on the international stage. According to Dr. Javier, the group’s achievements exemplify the strength of CPAd’s academic and cultural foundations, setting a powerful example for all Public Administration students. Their success not only elevates the college’s reputation but also reinforces CPAd’s enduring commitment to nurture globally competitive, service-oriented, and culturally grounded leaders who are prepared to make meaningful contributions to society.
