The College of Social Work held its first-ever “Balitaktakan sa Gawaing Panlipunan: Challenges of the Licensure Examination for Social Workers Coping with Grace,” a seminar attended by 145 graduating BSSW students held on May 6 at Tadena Hall. The event aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and coping strategies before the September board exam, guided by insights from registered social workers.
Panelists included Ms. Maria Angela Oriente, Top 2 in the 2024 SWLE; Mr. Christian Jay Idica, Medical Social Worker at MMMH-MC; and Ms. Marissa Gorospe-Sinense, Court Social Worker at RTC-Ilocos Norte. Moderated by Mr. Jay Ar Joshua Tolentino, the discussion focused on exam preparation, stress management, and professional experiences.
Facilitated by Ms. Jeanne-lyn Anicoche, Ms. Jezinelle Punio, and Ms. Kristel Joy Ablog, the seminar supports the college’s goal to enhance student readiness and improve passing rates. This initiative strengthens students’ confidence and competence as future social workers.
