CSW hosts ECCD training session
The College of Social Work conducted a synchronous extension activity in Suyo, Ilocos Sur on October 17, 2024.
CSW opted to focus on early childhood care and development (ECCD) workers, particularly on issues and concerns of efficient psychosocial functioning and to encourage participants to deepen their sense of self-acceptance and self-worth to make them more adaptable or resilient.
Prof. Aurora Quero and Ms. Sheila De Vera discussed “My Person: My Obligation.” Mr. Jay Ar Joshua A. Tolentino followed with his topic “My Person: My Vision.” The session was facilitated by Ms. Jezinelle Y. Punio (unit extension coordinator).
In addition to adult training, group dynamics for children were conducted by Ms. Jeanne-lyn Anicoche, Ms. Kristalyn Garcia, and Ms. Kristel Joy Abog under the theme “Bata-Bata, Handa Kana Ba?” This initiative aimed to provide children with opportunities for self-expression through art activities and socialization through group singing and dancing.
The SMGP officers, led by Mr. Orlie Pascual, conducted a needs assessment for members of Puso ti Agtutubo to inform future community extension activities.
Additionally, a tree planting event was organized to promote environmental advocacy among students, supported by Prof. Melody Gacita, Ms. Lilibeth Castaneda, and Ms. Sheila Rose Adajar.
