CTE holds Parangal 2025

The College of Teacher Education (CTE) of the University of Northern Philippines honored its top-performing students during the Parangal 2025 held on May 21 at the UNP Auditorium.

With the theme “Panagapit: Honoring Outstanding Students’ Contributions,” the event served as a culminating celebration of students’ academic success, leadership, and creativity – the values which the College continue to cultivate across all its programs.

Ms. Darigold Apopo served as the guest speaker who inspired the audience with her reflections on Panagapit, an Ilocano term for “harvesting.” She shared three reflections on excellence, emphasizing the importance of hard work, purpose, and making a positive impact on others.

Dr. Leilani Raquepo, Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs, in her welcome message, likened the college to a garden, where educators are gardeners helping students grow through care, discipline, and guidance.

Students were honored in categories such as Academic Excellence, Leadership, Journalism, Culture and the Arts, Athletics, School Spirit, Global Exchange Achievement, and Best Research.

The ceremony highlighted the college’s efforts in nurturing well-rounded future educators. It also echoed the goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 8, and 10, which promote quality education, decent work, and reduced inequality.

Dr. Eleuteria Pacpaco, Bachelor of Elementary Education Program Head, commended the awardees in her closing remarks and encouraged all students to continue striving for excellence in their personal and professional growth.
