The Department of Languages and Humanities of the College of Arts and Sciences through its DLH SSS (Saluad, Saririt ken Saranay) Extension Program, in partnership with the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, successfully conducted a Training on Strategies for Human Resource Development and Financial Management in Capangdanan Elementary School and Quimmarayan Elementary School.

Teachers and Barangay officials attended the training, which is an essential practice in both community and elementary school settings, focusing on employee and official development.

The welcome of Mrs. Diane May R. Giron, principal of Capangdanan Elementary School, emphasized the human resource development (HRD) management is a critical aspect of organizational growth and success.

Subsequently, Prof. Bernadeth F. Canoy, the organizer and initiator of the activity, conveyed the rationale for the activity. She stressed in the context of a community or school, investing in HRD ensures that employees are empowered to contribute meaningfully to the organization while achieving their own professional growth and fulfillment. Also, financial literacy enables individuals to take control of their financial lives.

In the activity, Prof. Romeo R. Arce, resource speaker and faculty member of CBAA, shared key insights on HRD management. He said that by focusing on employee development, aligning HRD with organizational goals, nurturing leadership, fostering employee engagement, and adapting to changes, HRD plays a pivotal role in creating a skilled, motivated, and adaptable workforce.

Also, Mrs. Via H. Leal, resource speaker and faculty member of CBAA, discussed financial literacy as an essential life skill that empowers individuals to make informed and effective decisions with their financial resources. She stressed understanding key financial concepts, such as budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt, and applying them to improve personal financial well-being.

As a response from the beneficiaries, Barangay Captain Marino M. Tababa of Quimmarayan, Sto. Domingo expressed his appreciation and gratefulness for the intensive discussion on HRD management and financial literacy. These are very crucial skills that have far-reaching implications for personal well-being, economic stability, and societal growth.

The lecture concluded with closing remarks sent by Prof. Eva Occencia T. Rubia, DLH faculty. She admired the collaboration among the three institutions and articulated the importance of continued partnerships in empowering community engagement through HRD management and financial literacy.
