First pinning ceremony illuminates BS Psychology practicum students’ achievements

In a historic moment for BS Psychology practicum students, the inaugural Pinning Ceremony celebrated their achievements and marked a significant milestone in their professional journey. This groundbreaking event, the first of its kind, held profound significance for both the students and the broader field of psychology.

The ceremony on March 7, which symbolized a new tradition within the program, honored the dedication and hard work of the students as they prepared to enter the professional world. Following the pinning ceremony, a poignant candle lighting ritual added an extra layer of symbolism, representing the illumination of knowledge and the guiding light of their future careers.

This event highlighted the program’s commitment to providing a holistic and meaningful educational experience. It underscored the importance of practical skills development and real-world experience in preparing students for success in the field of psychology.

Dr. Remedios T. Navarro, Dean of the College, graced the occasion and delivered a warm and inspiring welcome address, setting the tone for the ceremony. Following her remarks, Mr. Mico M. Molina, the program head, offered an overview of the practicum, providing invaluable insights into the practical aspects of the students’ educational journey. Additionally, Dr. Rolando B. Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, captivated the audience with a stirring message, inspiring both students and guests alike with his words of wisdom and encouragement.

A key aspect of the ceremony was the inclusion of a distinguished speaker, whose presence added prestige and insight to the occasion. Mx. Riyan Portuguez, a licensed Psychologist and CEO of the YMP LeAD, famously known as the Your Millennial Psychologist, provided invaluable advice and inspiration to the students as they embarked on their professional journey.

Moreover, the event offered a unique opportunity for the students to gain exposure to various settings within the field of psychology, including clinical, educational, and industrial contexts. This exposure not only broadened their understanding of the profession but also equipped them with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in diverse environments. In preparation for their exposure, the students had their pledge of commitment.

As a symbol of unity, the BS Psychology practicum students had their formation through the Trident symbol (Psi).
