Four schools join GAD for teachers seminar
The UNP Center for Gender and Development conducted a seminar-workshop on Gender and Development for Educators as part of the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur with four participating schools, namely: Orence Elementary School, Bulanos Elementary School, Banglayan Elementary School, and St. Gregory Elementary School on April 6, 2024.
The resource speakers were Atty. Meilyne Padua-Unciano who discussed the RA 7610 (An Act Providing for Stronger Deterrence and Special Protection Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination), while Atty. Jamaila A. Soller emphasized the importance of human rights.
The said workshop was aligned with the legal mandates to promote gender equality, gender sensitivity, non-discrimination, and human rights.
The event, organized by Dr. Mae Oliva M. Piano (CGAD Extension Coordinator), were attended by the teachers from the four participating schools.
This activity is aligned with SDG5 to achieve gender equality and empower all women.
