ICTO personnel attend Cyber Security Awareness & Responses seminar

Embodying their dedication to enhancing the digital and physical security landscape of the University of Northern Philippines, the Information & Communications Technology Office (ICTO) personnel completed their participation in a comprehensive two-day seminar conducted in Quezon City. Mr. Rhesty Tabalno, Mr. Emmanuel Paul Queypo, and Mr. Karl Loix Robiñol attended the “Cybercrime Investigation, Cyber Security Awareness Prevention & Responses, and Terrorism and Counter Terrorism Investigation” seminar conducted by JVD Training Services on May 7 and 8, 2025 at the Carmelot Hotel.

The well-timed seminar covered key topics in today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape. Through an emphasis on cybercrime investigation techniques, participants were enriched with knowledge of how to identify, analyze, and prosecute computer crimes. Cybersecurity awareness and response training provided the ICTO staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively prevent cyberattacks and manage security events.

In addition, the seminar explored the sensitive and critical areas of terrorism and counter-terrorism investigation. The activity was meant to increase the participants understanding of terrorist threats, prevention methods, and investigation processes.

The involvement of the ICTO personnel reflects the ICT Office’s proactive role in creating a safer digital and physical space for the UNP community. The skills and knowledge gained through this intensive training are anticipated to significantly improve the ICTO’s capacity to counter cyber threats, foster security awareness, and even play a role in wider counter-terrorism initiatives across the region.

This reflects the dedication of the ICT Office to continuous training and professional development, instill personnel with new information and best practices in such an important field. The knowledge gained from the JVD Training Services seminar will significantly benefit the ICTO in safeguarding digital assets, preparing against cyberattacks, and enhancing overall security activities for the University.
