Inspiring the next generation through resilience and service

In a moving speech, Dr. Angelica Queddeng-Dolores, Supervising Education Program Specialist of CHED Region Office I, served as the guest of honor and speaker during the 2025 Commencement Exercises for Cluster II (College of Engineering, the College of Architecture, the College of Fine Arts and Design, and the College of Technology) on June 6 at the UNP Gym, she captivated her audience with a blend of wisdom, humility, and encouragement. Her speech, delivered to graduates, educators, and parents, resonated with themes of perseverance, gratitude, and the transformative power of education.

Dr. Dolores emphasized that behind every graduate’s achievement stands a community of mentors and loved ones who have nurtured their dreams. “No one achieves success alone,” she reminded the audience, highlighting the importance of collaboration and support.

A central theme of Dr. Dolores’s message was resilience. Drawing from her own journey, she recounted the challenges she faced as a student—balancing academic demands with personal struggles. She shared how setbacks, rather than deterring her, became stepping stones to growth. “Failure is not the opposite of success; it is part of success, Dr. Dolores asserted, encouraging graduates to embrace challenges as opportunities for learning.

Her speech also underscored the value of service. Dr. Dolores urged the graduates to use their education not only for personal advancement but also to uplift others. “True success is measured by the positive impact you make in your community,” she said. She called on the new graduates to be agents of change, embodying compassion and integrity in all their endeavors.

Dr. Dolores concluded with a powerful call to action: to dream boldly, persevere through adversity, and serve with purpose. Her words left a lasting impression, inspiring both the graduates and the wider community to strive for excellence while remaining grounded in humility and service.

As the ceremony ended, it was clear that Dr. Dolores’s message had struck a chord. Her story and insights offered a roadmap for the next generation—a reminder that with resilience, gratitude, and a heart for service, anyone can make a meaningful difference.
