JPIA-UNP Chapter shines at 23rd RMYC, named Most Outstanding Local Chapter

The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) – University of Northern Philippines (UNP) Chapter dominated the 23rd Regional Mid-Year Convention (RMYC), earning the prestigious title of Most Outstanding Local Chapter alongside several top honors in both academic and non-academic categories. 

The event, themed, “Glacial Oasis: Drift in the Snow’s Embrace, Discover Winter’s Mystique,” was held on January 7 to 9, 2025 at Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza in Baguio City.

This milestone reflects the exceptional efforts of the JPIA-UNP Chapter in fostering excellence, teamwork, and resilience among its members. It also reflects the collaborative support provided by the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy faculty, the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, and the UNP administration.

The chapter received numerous accolades, including Most Outstanding Local Chapter in Academic Tilt – 2nd Runner-Up, Most Outstanding Local Chapter in Non-Academic Tilt, Most Participative Local Chapter, and Most Represented Local Chapter. These recognitions accentuate the chapter’s balanced approach to excellence in diverse fields.

In academic competitions, UNP JPIAns secured victories in categories such as Cyber Accounting Genius, CAT Cup, Search for Basic Accounting Wizard, and Tax Case Study, among others. Notable champions include Raychelle Marie Alaibilla, Jon Paul Donato, and Isaiah Keith Manzano.

The chapter also excelled in non-academic contests, achieving victories in basketball, volleyball, chess, essay writing, and dance crew competitions. The women’s basketball team, led by Most Valuable Player Honey Dwaine Cariño, emerged as champions, while Haley Trevor Repato earned the MVP award in the men’s basketball division.

The chapter’s success at the 23rd RMYC proves the strength of its leadership, the dedication of its members, and the impact of a supportive academic environment. JPIA-UNP continues to set the standard for excellence, inspiring its members to strive for even greater accomplishments.
