KALAHI-CIDSS beneficiaries receive their first payout
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)–Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), in partnership with the University of Northern Philippines, conducted the first payout for the 500 UNP graduates on cash-for-work, a poverty alleviation program of the government. It was held at the Student Center Building on September 16, 2024.
Through this partnership, the program provides 500 fresh graduates with work opportunities, giving them the chance to gain valuable experience and jumpstart their careers. This was a part of the memorandum of understanding between UNP and DSWD conducted on July 22, 2024.
The beneficiaries work in different DSWD partner agencies in the province and neighboring towns. They were happy to receive the fruit of their hard work for the month of August.
This program is anchored on the Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth, and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
