Lectures, training and MOA signing transpire in SJNHS
To inform students with the laws which may affect them, two personnel of the University of Northern Philippines conducted a lecture at San Juan National High School (SJNHS) on February 12, 2025.
Prof. Crissle Paz, faculty of the BA Political Science Program, delivered a lecture on Republic Act No. 10627, also known as the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013, a law that protects students from bullying that applies to public and private elementary and secondary schools.
Mr. Johnny Allagadan Jr., Information Officer of UNP, gave a lecture on the Republic Act No. 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law) that covers all forms of gender-based sexual harassment committed in public spaces, educational or training institutions, workplaces, and online spaces. The lecture was attended by selected students from all levels of the junior and senior high school.
Likewise, a lecture on Personal Finance by Mr. Engelbert Casimiro, and Ms. Karen Calaycay on Entrepreneurial Behavior, both faculty from the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, were delivered to the teachers of San Juan National High School.
Simultaneously with the lectures was the Table Skirting and Creative Design Training conducted by College of Hospitality and Tourism Management to the faculty members of the same school.
In the afternoon was the Memorandum of Agreement signing between UNP and SJNHS. Present during the signing were Dr. Fatima Rocamora, VP for Research and Extension, Mr. Elvis Tabugader, School Principal, SJNHS faculty members, and Prof. May Evelia Raudap, UNP Extension Coordinator.
