A Joint Hybrid Evaluation Visit was conducted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Panel of Evaluators and the CHED Regional Office I – Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) for the Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) program of the University of Northern Philippines on February 19, 2026, in line with the program’s application for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC).
The evaluation activity, spearheaded by the CHED under the Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD), formed part of the Commission’s continuing efforts to ensure that graduate programs comply with national standards and deliver quality instruction, research, and community engagement. Conducted in a hybrid format, the visit allowed both onsite and virtual participation of evaluators and university officials.
The CHED delegation included Mr. John Paul Dela Cruz, Senior Education Program Specialist; Dr. Maria Martina Geraldine Dimalibot and Dr. Rosana Grace Delariarte, CHED Technical Evaluators; Dr. Joel Estacio, Regional Quality Assessment Team Member; and Dr. Maria Carmela Domocmat, CHED Education Supervisor II.
Representing UNP were Dr. Erwin Cadorna, University President, Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Francis Don Nero, Dean of the College of Nursing, and Dr. Bernardo Oliber Arde Jr., Program Head of the MAN program, together with faculty members.
During the evaluation, the panel reviewed the program’s compliance with CHED policies and standards, including curriculum alignment, faculty qualifications, research productivity, student support services, clinical affiliations, and quality assurance mechanisms. The team also assessed facilities, instructional resources, and documentation to ensure that the program meets the prescribed requirements for graduate nursing education.
The activity concluded with a presentation of initial observations and recommendations aimed at further enhancing the quality and sustainability of the Master of Arts in Nursing program.
