CTE gears future educators for inclusive learning in the MATATAG curriculum

The College of Teacher Education conducted a seminar focused on gender-responsive teaching strategies held on December 16, 2024 at the UNP Hostel. The event, titled “Empowering Educators: Gender-Responsive Strategies in the MATATAG Curriculum,” aimed to enhance teaching practices and promote inclusivity in classrooms.

Key topics discussed included the MATATAG Curriculum, differentiated instruction, and the use of technology in the classroom. Dr. Eppie Joy I. Baclig, in her presentation, provided a comprehensive overview of the MATATAG Curriculum, with its emphasis on literacy and numeracy skills while addressing disparities in educational outcomes.

Dr. Joy Caren R. Tablante’s talk focused on “differentiated instruction,” where teachers tailor their teaching methods to suit the individual learning styles and needs of each student. This, she argued, is essential for creating fair and equitable learning opportunities for all.

Further, Mr. Richmond Queddeng showcased the Lumi Education App to demonstrate how technology can enhance lesson delivery and make learning more engaging for students through interactive experiences. His presentation highlighted how digital tools can transform classrooms into dynamic and effective learning environments.

Dr. Victoria R. Arce, in her talk, called for gender equality in education. She urged participants to challenge gender stereotypes and create an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.

Participants of the said event were third and fourth year students from the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSNEd), and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd).
