UNP signs MOA with LGU Sto. Domingo
The University of Northern Philippines partnered with the Municipality of Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur to provide essential services and support for local development.
UNP, under the leadership of Dr. Erwin Cadorna, University President, through its Open University represented by its OIC Dean, Dr. Dolores Bersamina, and the University Extension Office, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the municipality on August 27, 2024, outlining a comprehensive plan to address the community’s needs. Hon. Bryan Dexter Tadena, Mayor, and Hon. Edwin Maribert Tacbas, Vice Mayor, signed for and on behalf of the municipality.
The MOA outlines a complex approach to community engagement, focusing on skills training, technology transfer, information drives, advocacy programs, consultancy services, and capability programs. UNP aims to empower residents by providing them with the necessary knowledge and tools to improve their lives and contribute to the overall development of the community.
The partnership between UNP and Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur, represents a significant step towards community development and empowerment. By leveraging the university’s expertise and resources, the municipality can provide its residents with the necessary support to improve their lives and contribute to the overall progress of the region.
Also present during the MOA signing were Dr. Wilson Tolio, Asst. Dean, Open University, Mr. Randall Rabacal and Jevie Abella, University Extension Office Coordinators, and Mr. Johnny Allagadan Jr., Information Officer.
