To ensure a smooth transition into university service, the University of Northern Philippines organized an orientation for newly hired Job Order employees on February 16, 2026 at the UNP Hostel Function Hall. Facilitated by the Human Resources Management Office (HRMO), the program provided new staff members with a comprehensive overview of institutional guidelines, workplace standards, and the values that shape UNP’s professional culture.
Ms. Antonina Lazaro, Head of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), formally welcomed the participants and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to empower its workforce through continuous guidance, relevant training, and sustained capacity-building initiatives. In her message, she urged the newly hired Job Order employees to uphold the values of professionalism, integrity, and accountability as they begin their roles and become part of the UNP community.
Dr. Rolando B. Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered an inspiring message highlighting the vital role of integrity, discipline, and commitment in advancing the University’s mandate of quality public service. He encouraged personnel to align their work ethic with UNP’s mission, stressing that every task—no matter how routine—contributes to the institution’s broader goal of serving students and the community with excellence.
Dr. Navarro likewise recognized the indispensable contributions of the Job Order personnel, noting that their diligence and support are integral to the smooth and efficient daily operations of the University. He commended their dedication behind the scenes and challenged them to continue embodying professionalism, accountability, and excellence in the performance of their respective duties.
The program featured a series of focused discussions aimed at equipping the new personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary for the effective performance of their duties. Highlighting the session, Mr. Dexter Tacbas, Security Officer, representing Dr. Ruben Ragunjan, Assistant Head of the Campus Security Services Office, presented the updated UNP Traffic Rules and Regulations. He stressed the vital role of discipline, safety, and order in maintaining a secure and well-managed campus environment.
Atty. Katrynn Louise Eder, Officer-in-Charge of the Center for Gender and Development, together with Ms. Edzen Kaye Riotoc of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), led an engaging orientation on the University’s gender and development (GAD) policies. Their presentation highlighted UNP’s dedication to foster inclusivity, protect individual rights, and advance gender-responsive programs across the campus.
Complementing this, Mr. Raymart Tablante of the HRMO provided a thorough briefing on the University’s key policies and guidelines governing administrative procedures, personnel welfare, and workplace practices, equipping the new employees with essential knowledge to navigate their roles effectively within the UNP community.
The orientation ensured that newly hired employees were equipped with the foundational knowledge they need as they begin contributing to the University’s operations and services.
