UNP CHTM dominates Ilocos Culinary and Bartending Stage
The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) demonstrated culinary and bartending excellence at the Ilocuisine: Culinary and Bartending Competition 2025 on February 6. This event, a part of the Ilocos Sur Festival 2025, celebrated Ilocano cuisine and mixology.
In the Klasika, Moderna Kulinarya Category, Fionah Mickaela Eugenio, Ma. Izabella Althea Castillo, and Kevin Nicoli Rabena won first place, with their mentors, Dr. Rogelio Quario II, Dr. Kevin Cesar Martinez, and Sir Dave Angelo Asuncion.
In the Basi and Ilocos Fruit Wine Cocktail Mixing, Eahzen Abadilla won as the champion, and Kyla Tabbilos placed third, both under the guidance of Mr. Glenn Benzon. Mr. Benzon also achieved second place in the Cocktail Mixing and Flairing Professional Category.
UNP-CHTM students working at Coffee Swings, owned by Ms. Alma Manalo, secured second place in the Klasika, Moderna Kulinarya Professional Division, the team included CJ McAllester Abinion, Mac Daryll Atinaja, and Mark Ethel Cabaña.
UNP CHTM’s success reflects the dedication and skill of its students, coaches, and mentors, bringing pride to the university and inspiring future culinary professionals. CHTM highlighted the institution’s history and contributions to hospitality and tourism.
