As organized by the Organization of Business Administration Students (OBAS), students from the College of Business Administration and Accountancy conducted an extension activity titled “Coin Quest: A Treasure Hunt for Financial Skills Training,” with 52 Grade 5 and Grade 6 learners at Nagtupacan Elementary School, Brgy. Nagtupacan, San Vicente, Ilocos Sur on March 22.

The extension activity was subdivided into four parts: (1) the lecture series on saving and spending, where the OBAS Governor Ms. Julian Veandrae Quarto and the OBAS Treasurer Mr. Rustom Jay Riodil served as resource speakers; (2) the coin dance game; (3) the feeding program; and (4) the gift-giving of school supplies and piggy banks.

The said activity was made possible by the initiative of the OBAS Adviser Mr. Jhonniño Serdenia, OBAS Extension Head Mr. Sean Edouard Paat, and OBAS Extension Staff Ms. Nathalee Requilman and Ms. Joyce Ann Nartatez. With the guidance of the University Extension Office, they partnered with the Head Teacher, Mr. Allan Requilman.

In addition, the Junior Bankers’ Association provided a savings booklet to the same participants.
