Asian cultures meld in int’l virtual exploration

 

Asian cultures take center stage as universities of different countries, the University of Northern Philippines included, join an international virtual exploration.

The University of Northern Philippines is one among the thirty colleges and universities in that are participating in the CommTECH Nusantara 2024: Virtual Exploration of Indonesia–Ramadhan Edition which started on March 25 and will end on April 5, 2024.

During the opening program, Dr. Erwin Cadorna, UNP President, thanked the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Subaraya–Indonesia for including UNP in the short list of participants. There are 20 faculty members of UNP who are in the virtual exploration.

Other participants are from Japan, China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines, involving fifteen state and private colleges and universities.

CommTECH Nusantara is a short program which aims to introduce various Indonesian cultures to participants from all over the world. This program focuses on art and culture-related activities. Participants will explore the values and culture from various region of Indonesia especially some activities during Ramadhan.

In the end of the program, participants will present their creation on a virtual project exhibition. The projects will also be posted through CommTECH’s Instagram account as well as the Facebook account of ITS Global Engagement.

The best project will be chosen based on the highest number of likes on the post. The team with the best project will receive some special prizes from ITS.

Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is a leading university in the field of science and technology in Indonesia.

This is the second engagement of UNP with Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya– Indonesia. The first was the face-to-face CommTECH Insight Camp by two BS Physics students, Immanuel Alonzo and Trixia Millet Rosario.
