OBAS Hosts Fil-Indo Business Case Seminar and Competition

To promote business acumen, entrepreneurial creativity, strategic thinking, and cross-cultural exchange between Filipino and Indonesian students, the Organization of Business Administration Students (OBAS) successfully spearheaded the Wanisan dan Kepemimpinan: Fil-Indo Business Case Competition on May 8 at UNP-Tadena Hall.

The seminar featured inspiring talks from notable speakers. Mr. Marius Clifford Billedo, RN, MMPA, Secretary of the Sangguniang Bayan of LGU San Vicente, delivered a session on Culturally-Rooted Leadership. He emphasized the evolving nature of leadership in a digital world, stating, “The facts in the past may not be true today because of the advancement of technology.”

Ms. Patricia May talked on Local is Global: Elevating Indigenous Products Through Modern Marketing and Entrepreneurship, where she highlighted how innovation and creativity can bring local products to the global stage.

In the afternoon, the much-anticipated Business Case Solution Competition took place where Alief Wahyu Alhabib was awarded as the Best Indonesian Presenter and Clynt RV Ablog as Best Filipino Presenter. The winners of the Fil-Indo Business Case Competition were recognized for their outstanding presentations and innovative solutions.

The Best Business Case Solution was awarded to the team behind “Molded by Time, Shaped for Tomorrow: A Training and Development Strategy for Burnay Potters,” composed of Intan Kamiela, Gian Rei Catindig, Erl Zigfreid Nalundasan, Roderick Amistad, and Lovely Balano, under the guidance of Mr. Marvin Keith R. Sosa.

In any case, the first runner-up was “The Sigay Robusta Coffee Farmers Cooperative” by Nur  Nashiroh, Kimberly Valdez, Clynt RV Ablog, Chantelle Abellan, and Reniel Valera, mentored by Mr. Geofed Jhon Ngayaan. Taking the second runner-up spot was the presentation “Revitalizing Ilocos Weaving Industry” by Alief Wahyu Alhabib, Marc Chlyde Laongayan, and Queenie Marie Arconado, with Mrs. Arlette Dian Real as adviser.

The event concluded with a cultural intermission performance by Ms. Merilizh Cabotaje, OBAS Senator-Elect, and Nur Nashiroh, UBSI exchange student, in celebration of international camaraderie and shared aspirations among future business leaders from both nations.
