The Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP), Inc. gathered key delegates in Pasay City for its Constitutional Convention on November 8–9, 2025 with the PCAP Ilocos Sur Chapter represented by Dr. Wilson Tolio of the College of Open and Distance Education and Prof. Myline Aleson of the College of Criminal Justice Education. Their participation highlighted the province’s active role in the nationwide observance of the 2nd Philippine Criminology Profession Week, an annual celebration mandated by Presidential Proclamation No. 397 to honor the profession’s contributions to public safety and national development.
The Constitutional Convention convened PCAP officers, regional delegates, and criminology leaders from across the country to review and refine key organizational provisions aimed at fortifying the association’s governance and operational systems. Deliberations centered on updating institutional policies, elevating professional standards, and ensuring that PCAP remains agile and responsive to emerging issues in criminal justice, law enforcement, community safety, and national security. The event also served as an important venue for meaningful dialogue, enabling stakeholders to share insights and reaffirm their collective commitment to advance and professionalize the criminology field nationwide.
The involvement of Dr. Tolio and Prof. Aleson firmly demonstrated the PCAP IlocosSur Chapter’s active role in national policymaking and its unwavering commitment to advance the criminology profession. By taking part in the convention’s critical deliberations, they ensured that regional perspectives were well represented in discussions shaping organizational reforms and long-term professional standards. Their contribution not only reinforced the chapter’s leadership within PCAP but also helped steer the association toward strengthened governance, improved professional practice, and a more unified direction for criminologists across the country.
