SWSO promotes academic empowerment for student leaders

The Student Welfare Services Office, through the Guidance and Counseling Services, recently held its Academic Competence and Empowerment Program on March 25, 2025, at the UNP Auditorium. With the theme, “Mindful Goals: Setting Intentions for Success and Well-being,” the initiative aimed to instill to the Grades 7 and 11, as well as first-year Class Mayors, the tools to enhance their academic performance and well-being.

Ms. Pauline Yanssen Martinez, one of the guidance counselors of the university, emphasized the tools and strategies to help students address the challenges and pressure they faced in their academics. One of the main strategies she discussed is the importance of setting mindful goals to help them maintain momentum in their learning journey.

The program aligns with UNP’s Sustainable Developmental Goals of providing responsive services to the community and promoting mental wellness among students, thus, by supporting academic excellence and personal growth, this initiative highlights the university’s commitment to holistic education and leadership development.
