The Tourism Students Organization (TSO) reaffirmed its dedication to student leadership and cultural advocacy as it garnered two distinguished honors at the 2025 International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO (Y4U).
The global youth gathering, held from November 21 to 23 at the picturesque Forest Crest Nature Hotel and Resort in Nasugbu, Batangas, brought together emerging leaders from around the world united by a common vision of fostering compassion, cultural appreciation, and global understanding.
The assembly centered on the theme “Strength in Action: Harnessing the Collective Power of Youth to Lead with a Heart, Purpose, and Integrity,” a call that highlighted the vital role of young leaders in shaping inclusive and culturally grounded communities. In line with this vision, the Tourism Students Organization emerged as a standout participant, earning its re-accreditation as a UNESCO Club and being named one of the Outstanding Clubs for UNESCO 2025 – Culture Category (College Level). These distinctions reaffirm the organization’s commitment to initiatives that celebrate local culture, empower youth participation, and foster meaningful partnerships within and beyond the University. Through purposeful leadership and collaborative efforts, TSO continues to champion projects that create lasting impact in the communities it serves.
The assembly served as a vibrant platform where participants exchanged ideas, shared advocacies, and championed initiatives aligned with UNESCO’s mission, from cultural preservation to global citizenship. Amid workshops, plenaries, and cross-cultural discussions, TSO’s presence reflected not only active participation but genuine passion for service and heritage.
Representing the organization were official delegates John Paul Mesina, TSO President; Janna Louise Rabago, Vice President; and Jhuniel Velasco, Assistant Secretary, together with their dedicated adviser, Mr. Jervin Dale Formoso. Throughout the assembly, their leadership, insight, and collaborative engagement were evident, contributing significantly to TSO’s strong presence at the event. Their participation not only showcased the organization’s commitment to meaningful youth involvement but also reinforced its standing as a student body guided by purpose, integrity, and excellence.
The Tourism Students Organization returned from the 2025 International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO (Y4U) with honors that bring pride not only to its members but to the entire College of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Their accomplishments stand as a testament to the power of youth leadership, vision, and a commitment to cultural advocacy.
This milestone reinforces TSO’s reputation as a dynamic force in nurturing responsible, compassionate, and forward-thinking leaders. Beyond the certificates and formal recognitions, the organization brings home a strengthened legacy of impact—one that inspires future members to lead with purpose and integrity. With renewed energy and determination, TSO continues to set a high standard, proving that dedication, teamwork, and heart-driven action can turn ambition into achievement.
