The University Information Office (UIO) of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) started the year on a high note with its Team Productivity Alignment meeting held on January 21, 2025, in Brgy. Tamurong, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur.

The meeting, designed to set the tone for the year ahead, covered a wide range of topics crucial to the office’s operations, and goals. Team members engaged in reflective exercises, sharing their realizations from the previous year. A key focus of the gathering was setting expectations for academic year 2025. Participants were encouraged to voice their aspirations for the Information Team, and to set three personal goals for the year. This exercise aimed to align individual objectives with the office’s overall mission.

The UIO team also reviewed and streamlined their work processes, covering areas such as news writing, photo and video coverage, social media management, and radio station operations. Emphasis was placed on efficiency, with specific timelines set for various tasks.

Looking ahead, the UIO outlined several major projects for 2025. These include the preparations for the Silver Anniversary celebration of the University, 2^nd phase of the rebranding initiative, and the development, and publication of a Communication Protocol Handbook. The team also plans to organize a meeting and training session for College Information Coordinators (CICs) soon.

The meeting was not all work and no play. In a lighthearted moment, the team participated in an exchange gift-giving activity, promoting camaraderie among colleagues. It was a light moment, where the theme of the gifts centered on “what is needed”.

UIO Director, Dr. Irene Abigail S. Guerrero, emphasized the importance of punctuality, cleanliness, and mutual support within the office. She introduced the concept of “Motivation Mindful Mondays Meeting (M4)” – a short weekly gathering to start the week on a positive note.

The meeting concluded with a reminder of office policies, including the buddy system for efficient task coverage. As the UIO team left the meeting, there was a palpable sense of excitement and determination to make 2025 a year of growth, innovation, and success for the University Information Office. With clear goals, streamlined processes, and a spirit of collaboration, the UIO team is poised to elevate the University’s information dissemination and public relations efforts to new heights in the coming year.
