UNP and CLSU strengthen ties for Heritage Conservation
The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) College of Architecture visited Central Luzon State University (CLSU) from March 12 to 14, 2025 to strengthen collaboration on heritage conservation. The visit included the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to formalize the partnership and reinforce the commitment. Through site assessments and discussions, the institutions reaffirmed their dedication to preserving historical structures on the CLSU campus and exploring its architectural heritage.
Dr. Fatima Nicetas Rabang-Alonzo, Dean of the UNP College of Architecture, led the UNP delegation, which included Engr. Maila Pedrigal Ragasa, Coordinator for Extension, faculty members Ar. Julius Artates and Ar. Beulah Gascon, and a group of 5th-year architecture students.

She discussed conservation techniques, principles, and the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in maintaining the value of heritage sites.
UNP students and faculty conducted a comprehensive site assessment, documenting structural conditions and identifying areas requiring conservation. These findings will guide future efforts to ensure the longevity and functionality of these heritage buildings. The delegation also toured the CLSU campus, gaining insights into its academic environment, facilities, and historical landmarks.
The UNP delegation was welcomed by CLSU President Dr. Evaristo Abella, alongside key officials, including Mr. Carlo Raul Divina, Director of the Physical Plant and Site Development Office, Head Architect Ar. Jeffrey Laruia Celyrah Castillo, Dean of the College of House Science and Industry, Dr. Mercedita Reyes, Head of the Department of English and Humanities, Assoc.
