UNP-CBAA, Baluarte Zoo Foundation renew partnership for Community Development

The University of Northern Philippines (UNP), through its College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), renewed its partnership with Baluarte Zoo Foundation, Inc. through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing held on September 3, 2025, in Salindeg, Vigan City.

The collaboration, under the program B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S. in the Communities and project Panagtinnunos ti Panagdur-as, aims to strengthen organizational development by providing capacity-building initiatives, livelihood programs, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial skills enhancement for the foundation and its communities.

Present during the signing were CBAA Dean Dr. Erwin Tolbe, Program Head of BSBA-HRDM Dr. Princess Neptalia Quebral, and CBAA Extension Coordinator Dr. Eileen Rose Paculan, and Prof. May Evelia Ruadap. Representing Baluarte was Mr. Ignacio Tadeo, Administrative Manager.

The renewed MOA reflects UNP’s commitment to community engagement and extension work, aligning with its goal of involving faculty members in programs that foster inclusive growth and sustainable development. It also supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs) by promoting equal access to opportunities and addressing gender-related needs through practical interventions.

The activity emphasizes UNP’s broader mission of strengthening university-community linkages while equipping beneficiaries with skills that foster resilience, self-reliance, and economic sustainability.
