Fostering collaboration and shared commitment, the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of the University of Northern Philippines convened its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) General Assembly for Academic Year 2025–2026 on October 24, 2025, at the CCJE Function Hall. The gathering aimed to reinforce the vital partnership among parents, guardians, and the college in supporting the academic excellence and holistic development of Criminology students.
In her opening remarks, Mrs. Gertrudes Aninag, Vice President of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), extended a warm welcome to the parents and guardians present at the assembly. She commended their unwavering support and active participation in their children’s education, underscoring that student success is a collective endeavor built on strong collaboration between the home and the institution.
The assembly was further enriched by a heartfelt message from the Dean, Dr. Sina Bestre, who acknowledged the vital role of parents in guiding students toward discipline, integrity, and excellence—core values of the criminology profession. Dr. Bestre underscored that education goes beyond the four walls of the classroom and that genuine development happens when the community and the college work hand in hand.
Following the dean’s message, the program proceeded with the introduction of the College personnel, highlighting the dedicated faculty and staff of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), along with representatives from the Criminology Students’ Organization and The Defender, the official college publication. The segment recognized the individuals and student bodies that collectively sustain the college’s vibrant academic community and culture of excellence.
A key highlight of the assembly was the presentation of the PTA Accomplishment Report for Academic Year 2024–2025, delivered by Dr. Marlow Pacapac, PTA President. He shared the organization’s major milestones, including the successful implementation of extension activities, provision of free water and printing services for students, allocation of funds for college utilities, and donations extended for student assistance. Dr. Pacapac also unveiled the PTA’s upcoming plans and projects, all geared toward enhancing student learning experiences and strengthening support systems within the college community.
Promoting transparency and accountability, PTA Treasurer Mrs. Jacquelyn F. Castillo presented the financial report for the same academic year. She comprehensively detailed the association’s sources of income, expenditures, and remaining balance, ensuring that parents and stakeholders were well-informed about the proper utilization of funds for student welfare and institutional development.
Capping off the event, Dr. George Phillippe Amano delivered the closing remarks, expressing heartfelt appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the assembly. He extended special thanks to the student organizations, The Defender publication team, and the PTA officers and members for their continued cooperation, commitment, and unwavering support to the college’s endeavors.
