The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) marked a milestone on November 27, 2025, with the blessing of the new College of Open and Distance Education (CODE) Building. Rev. Fr. Nick A. Vaquilar, STHD, Rector of the Immaculate Conception School of Theology and Head of the UNP Chaplaincy Team, officiated the solemn ceremony.
University officials, faculty, staff, and stakeholders gathered to dedicate the facility, advancing UNP’s commitment to accessible open and distance learning. The first and second floors are fully operational, featuring offices, learning spaces, and training areas for CODE’s programs and extensions. The third floor’s construction continues under a phased approach prioritizing quality.
Fr. Vaquilar stressed the building’s role beyond physical space, fostering knowledge, values, commitment, and service vital for distance education. His blessing symbolized growth, collaboration, and service to learners and communities.
CODE leaders and administrators expressed gratitude for the support enabling this project. The building testifies to UNP’s dedication to modern, student-centered education.
