The University of Northern Philippines marked a vibrant and impactful NSTP Day 2025 on May 10, gathering students, faculty, and community partners under the theme, “Together in Service: Celebrating Growth, Impact and Transformation.” Held at the UNP Gymnasium, highlighted the university’s commitment to service, leadership, and nation-building through the National Service Training Program (NSTP).
The day began with a welcome remarks from Dr. Carlo Ventura, Director of the NSTP Office. The activity proper featured a simultaneous bloodletting activity at the Guestel Function Hall, a search for the best community and school-based project, and a poster-making contest. Traditional Filipino games or “Laro ng Lahi” brought energy and excitement, with students competing in tug of war, sack race, “Putokan na,” and calamansi relay with a twist.
In the afternoon, the spotlight shifted to the NSTP Got Talent and the Mr. and Ms. NSTP pageant, where students showcased their creativity, wit, and stage presence. The event culminated with the presentation of winners for the various contests, led by Dr. Ventura and other NSTP coordinators, including Dr. Ana Leah Alconis (CWTS), Roderick Ian Dacanay (LTS), and Mr. Ramon Opeña (ROTC)1.
Mr. Ramon Opeña, ROTC Coordinator, delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of unity, service, and transformation-values at the heart of the NSTP.
NSTP Day 2025 at UNP was more than a celebration, it was a testament to the university’s ongoing efforts to empower students as active citizens and leaders in their communities. Through engaging activities and meaningful service, the event reinforced the transformative power of collective action and the enduring impact of the NSTP on the lives of students and the broader community.
