UNP clinches top spot in the search for Emerging Tech4Ed Centers
The University of Northern Philippines was recognized as the leading Emerging Tech4Ed Center for Region 1, showcasing its commitment to digital education in the region during the Regional Tech4Ed Awards and ILCDB Stakeholders Recognition held on November 21, 2024. This prestigious event took place at the Don Leopoldo Sison Convention Center in Alaminos, Pangasinan, where the UNP Main Library Team, led by Ms. Marieglo Presto, the Tech4Ed Manager and Head of the UNP Library, represented the university.
The Tech4Ed Project is a national initiative aimed at promoting digital inclusion across rural areas by establishing self-sustaining centers that serve as hubs for capacity development. These centers integrate a mix of physical, digital, virtual, and human resources to create environments conducive to learning and development. They provide high-quality, fully digitized training through a digital platform that supports content delivery and performance monitoring, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all participants.
The Regional Tech4ED Awards celebrate achievements and innovations in digital literacy and inclusion, honoring contributions that transform communities. The event includes nominations, evaluations, a ceremony, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities.
