UNP-COE hailed as key provincial partner in Ilocos Sur

The University of Northern Philippines’ College of Engineering earned distinction at the 2025 PESO Appreciation Day on November 26, as the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur—through its Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO)—recognized the college for its sustained and proactive role in advancing employment facilitation programs across Ilocano communities.
The award underscores the UNP College of Engineering’s pivotal role as a committed partner in driving the province’s employment agenda. Through its continued collaboration with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur and the PESO, the college actively contributes to widening job opportunities for Ilocanos, enhancing workforce readiness through targeted skills development, and supporting long-term initiatives that promote sustainable employment and economic growth across the province.

During the ceremony, Engr. Pamela Aurey Perilla, BSGE Program Head, and Engr. Charlaign Kate Gumasing, BSCE Program Head, formally received the plaque of recognition on behalf of the college, joining an esteemed roster of awardees from various public and private institutions. The gathering served as a convergence of PESO’s most active partners, each honored for their unwavering support in advancing employment facilitation, strengthening local initiatives, and contributing to the overall development of Ilocano communities.
This recognition emphasizes the steadfast leadership of the College Dean, Dr. Nelia Verzosa, made possible through the continuous support of the UNP administration led by President Dr. Erwin Cadorna, whose guidance strengthens the college’s commitment to build strong partnerships that connect education, industry, and community development.
