UNP CoE undergoes CHED Evaluation for program compliance
The UNP College of Engineering underwent an evaluation of its Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering program as part of its Certificate of Program Compliance application to the Commission on Higher Education. The assessment was conducted by a panel composed of representatives from CHED, including the Technical Panel, the CHED Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT), and the Education Supervisor from CHED Regional Office I. The evaluation took place last February 18, 2025, through hybrid modality.
The evaluation team consisted of Engr. Epifanio Lopez, representing the Technical Panel, Engr. Jennifer Del Amen, from the CHED RQAT, and Engr. Leonora Quarte, Education Supervisor of CHED Regional Office I. The visit aimed to ensure that the BSGE program meets the minimum quality standards set by CHED and aligns with national educational policies and guidelines.
During the evaluation, the team conducted a thorough review of the program’s curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities, and compliance with CHED’s prescribed standards. They assessed the adequacy of instructional materials, laboratory and fieldwork equipment, student support services, and the overall capability of the institution to deliver quality geodetic engineering education.
The assessment also included interviews with faculty members, as well as an inspection of laboratories and classrooms. Following the evaluation, the team provided feedback, highlighting both the strengths of the BSGE program and areas that may require improvement to fully comply with CHED’s standards.
The UNP CoE remains committed in ensuring the continuous improvement of its BSGE program and is optimistic about securing the COPC with the help of the UNP administration headed by Dr. Erwin Cadorna, President and Dr. Rolando Navarro, VP for Academic Affairs.
This evaluation marks a significant step of the UNP CoE led by Dr. Nelia Verzosa, College Dean, towards achieving excellence in engineering education and producing highly skilled geodetic engineers for the future.
