UNP College of Law launches Central Bar Operations with first-ever Comprehensive Bar Lecture Series

Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to bar excellence, the University of Northern Philippines College of Law officially launched its Central Bar Operations 2026 through a dynamic Comprehensive Bar Lecture Series, which opened with a virtual session on February 13, 2026, and continued with its first-ever face-to-face lecture the following day at Tadena Hall—marking a bold and strategic start to this year’s bar preparations.

The online lecture, aptly titled “Bar Quest,” gathered more than 100 students, alumni, and faculty for an engaging and insightful session led by Atty. Edwin M. Carillo. Drawing from his experience and expertise, Atty. Carillo outlined practical and effective strategies for bar examination preparation. He emphasized the value of crafting answers that are clear, concise, and responsive to the issues presented, while consistently grounding arguments on sound legal bases and precise application of the law. His guidance offered participants both direction and confidence as they navigate their own bar journeys.

The in-person session zeroed in on Criminal Law, with Pros. Freddie M. Nojara, LL.M., at the helm. Delivering a comprehensive and well-structured review, he guided participants through the fundamental provisions of Book I and Book II of the Revised Penal Code, as well as key Special Penal Laws, thoughtfully weaving in recent Supreme Court rulings to contextualize evolving legal principles. The discussion fostered an interactive learning environment, as participants raised questions and explored nuanced issues, gaining practical insights to better navigate complex legal doctrines and bar-level problem solving.

The Comprehensive Bar Lecture Series is designed to equip first-time takers, retakers, and even current law students with the tools and confidence needed to face the Bar examinations. Through expert-led discussions, structured mentoring, and dynamic, interactive learning sessions, the program fosters both academic mastery and practical exam preparedness. More than a review initiative, it reflects the College’s commitment to a community-centered approach—one that walks along with aspiring lawyers at every stage of their bar journey, ensuring they are supported, guided, and inspired until they reach their goal.
