In a heartfelt celebration of faith and tradition, the University of Northern Philippines held a solemn procession on October 15, paying homage to Saint Teresa de Avila. The event brought together students, faculty, and staff in a vibrant display of devotion, spirituality, and community spirit.
The ceremony began in front of the Administration Building, where members of the Santa Teresita Ministry performed a captivating cultural dance. The performance, rooted in indigenous traditions, set a festive yet reverent tone, weaving together faith and heritage in a moving tribute to the saint.
Following the opening ritual, the procession commenced, tracing a route from the UNP campus through Tamag and Cuta, before returning to the University. Participants prayed in unison, and reflected on the lives of St. Joseph, Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, and St. Teresa de Avila, seeking their guidance and intercession. The journey through the community symbolized both physical and spiritual pilgrimage, reinforcing the University’s commitment to unity and shared faith.
The event not only celebrated religious devotion but also highlighted UNP’s dedication to cultivating spiritual life among its members. As participants walked together, the procession became a testament to the enduring values of faith, culture, and camaraderie that define the UNP community.
