UNP concludes Accreditation Survey Visit for MAN and MOS Programs

Amid gray skies and light rain, the University of Northern Philippines officially concluded its Level II Accreditation Survey Visit (ASV) for the Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) and Master of Statistics (MOS) programs on August 1, 2025. The five-day virtual survey marked another important step in UNP’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of its graduate programs.

During the closing program, Dr. April M. Bagon-Faeldan, overall coordinator from Mindoro State University, shared her final impressions. She praised the university for its warm welcome, quick response, and well-organized handling of the documents and interviews. She pointed out key strengths of both programs, such as the highly qualified faculty, strong research culture, successful alumni, and the well-equipped and accessible library resources. While she mentioned a few minor concerns, she encouraged the university to view these as opportunities to grow and improve.

Dr. Rolando V. Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the Statement of Commitment on behalf of UNP President Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna. In his message, Dr. Navarro confirmed the university’s strong commitment to quality education and its openness to the suggestions provided by the accrediting team. He reminded everyone that accreditation is not the end of the journey but part of a continuous process to improve the university’s services and programs.

Dr. Fatima F. Rocamora, Vice President for Research and Extension, also thanked the accreditors for their support in helping the university improve its graduate programs. She said their feedbacks are important in guiding the university to meet higher standards and prepare for future growth.

Both the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Nursing shared positive reflections on the visit. Faculty members and program heads said the survey was a chance for them to assess their work, build stronger teamwork, and learn from each other. They are hopeful for good results in the next few months and are ready to use the feedback to make their programs even better.

As the accreditation survey ends, UNP looks back with pride at how the university stayed strong and united throughout the process. The lessons learned will continue to guide its next steps. UNP remains committed, thankful, and ready to turn challenges into opportunities as it works toward excellence in graduate education.
